188BET makes it a double in Wigan
Wigan Warriors has signed a one-year deal which makes 188BET the club's official betting partner for the 2010 season.
The company's logo will appear on the sleeves of the home and away shirts and 188BET will offer a match day betting services to fans at the DW Stadium and an online service.
Isle of Man-based gambling website, which already sponsors Premier League soccer clubs Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers, has never sponsored a Rugby League side before.
Wigan Warriors chief executive Mick Hogan said: “Having listened to their future plans regarding sports sponsorship we are excited to be in partnership with them for the forthcoming season.”
Andy Scott, chief executive of 188BET, said: “Having already developed a strong relationship with Wigan Athletic FC the company was keen to also associate itself with Wigan Warriors. The club is a like-minded and progressive organisation with similar ambitious plans for the future that will allow 188BET to enter into a new sporting sector. Wigan Warriors has a strong brand profile in England and internationally and we see them as the ideal partner and look forward to developing the association further.”
