Mobberley golf course plans approved
By Simon Binns
Cheshire East Council has approved a planning submission from Ollerton Leisure to double the size of its golf course in Mobberley.
The club will now be able to extend its nine-hole course to a full 18 holes, as well as offering a new driving range, a smaller six-hole academy training course and an extension to its club house, designed by architects from Altrincham-based Pozzoni.
The Manchester office of property consultants Drivers Jonas LLP (DJ) provided planning advice to Ollerton. Alexa Brain, associate from Drivers Jonas, said: “The plans represent a significant investment in the village and demonstrate the club's long-term commitment to the local economy.”
Jeremy Hobson, co-owner of Mobberley Golf Club, said: “Re-developing our club will turn it into a first class leisure facility within East Cheshire, offering a top class course as well as state-of-the-art practice facilities for both members and visitors.”
